WASHINGTON (April 16, 2010) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has indicated that the Senate may expedite consideration of the financial reform bill that calls for creation of a new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
NADA Organizes Dealer Fly-in to U.S. Senate in Support of Brownback Amendment
WASHINGTON (April 15, 2010) – The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is organizing a Dealer Fly-in on April 26 to meet with Senators and urge support for the Brownback Amendment which would exempt auto dealers from the proposed Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. The proposed bureau would have sweeping powers to control dealer-assisted financing and even commissions for auto salespeople.
NADA Issues Legislative Call-to-Action in Support of Brownback Amendment to Financial Regulation Bill
WASHINGTON (April 6, 2010) -- Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., is planning to offer an amendment to exempt auto dealers from the financial regulation bill when the Senate considers the proposed legislation as early as next week. The amendment preserves the ability of consumers to access credit at affordable rates.
