AUTOMOTIVE NEWS AT A
GLANCE

Listed here are several articles pertaining to the
auto industry in general that appeared recently in newspapers and other media outlets across the nation.

NEW ONLINE SALESPERSON EXAMINATION COMING SOON

The Department of Revenue, Auto Industry Division (AID)and the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB) recently held the public rulemaking hearing and voted on rules necessary to roll-out the new online salesperson licensing exam.  The state legislature voted a couple of years ago for a new “psychometrically valid” test.  AID has worked with CSU staff along with a third-party testing development company to create the new exam.  Key features and requirements:

  • Questions vary and will rotate around (no hard copy answer key floating around)
  • All exams must be taken online; no more paper exams
  • 61 questions
  • Passing score will now be 85% vs. the prior 100%
  • Exam can be taken no more than two times per day

There are still a few procedural issues to be determined, but we expect the new exam will be rolled out in the next few months.  Please be on the lookout for more information.

As a related reminder on the topic of salesperson licensing, see this prior article below
June 13, 2007, GMs AND F&I MANAGERS MAY NEED SALESPERSON LICENSE
