New Online Salesperson Licensing Examination Required as of
Monday, August 30th
The Auto Industry Division has provided a summary of the new process / procedures to be utilized as of August 30th, 2010 when new rules take effect to implement the online salesperson licensing exam. The two documents below provide most of the implementation details:
Some key additional clarifications on the new exam and this transition:
- Any new salesperson applications that are in-process, and for which you plan to utilize the prior, written exam, MUST BE POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 28TH. **
Note this is a change from information provided in the August 24th Open Road.
- Beginning Monday, August 30th, new salespersons must take the online version of the license examination.
- Unlike the prior exam, the questions vary each time the test is taken, appear in a random order, and there is no way to review/determine which questions were missed.
- The new test requires an 85% pass-rate, while the prior exam required a 100% pass-rate.
- The exam must still be administered/witnessed – to affirm that the named applicant did actually take the exam.
- CADA will continue to provide testing administration services here at our office on our computers, along with salesperson bonds.
- Those taking exams may wish to schedule a time to ensure the availability of a computer; typically we can accommodate four test takers at one time, but that could vary depending on events and other trainings/meetings. Call 303-831-1722 to schedule at time. Walk-in testers are also welcome!
- We will no longer need to grade the exam as that will be done online, but will sign the affidavit to affirm identity and that the exam was taken at our facility.
- There will not be an updated License Law Manual/Study Guide published by the Auto Industry Division.
- CADA is working on materials for this purpose.
Where to find the new exam:
To access the new online exam, visit Auto Industry’s Salesperson Licensing information page at the following URL:
