REMINDER: MODEL PRIVACY NOTICES & RISK BASED PRICING NOTICES - BOTH EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2011
A reminder that Privacy Notice forms change January 1, 2011 so that only the new model forms will provide the ‘safe harbor’ protection under federal law. Dealerships need to ensure existing forms are modified accordingly. CADA can print these forms for dealerships – contact us if you are interested in ordering.
The Risk Based Pricing Notice new requirement also takes effect January 1, 2011. To meet the new requirement, most dealerships will be providing an Exception notice to all consumers who apply for credit. Typically credit bureaus and related companies that handle credit applications will be providing these notices to dealerships for no charge; you should check with your vendors. If needed, CADA can also print these customized form for you as well.
Visit the prior Open Road articles below for more information on each topic:

2011 FUEL ECONOMY GUIDES
The U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency have released the 2011 Fuel Economy Guide. The guide provides detailed fuel economy numbers for MY 2011light-duty vehicles, along with estimated annual fuel costs and other information for prospective purchasers. Dealers must display a copy of the guide and provide copies to customers upon request. There are a number of options available for dealers to comply:
• EPA/DOE is electronically distributing the guide to dealers for printing as needed.
• Dealers can download the guide, save it, and print it as necessary.
• Dealers can order hard copies of the guide by clicking here, by calling DOE’s Information Center at 877.337.3463 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. EDT, or by using a form to order copies by mail. Hard copies will be mailed, free of charge, in December 2010.
Click here for an EPA/DOE letter detailing how to make the guide available to customers.

DINNER WITH COLORADO'S REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION IN WASHINGTON DC
Please join CADA for a very exclusive and private dinner with Colorado’s Republican caucus at the Occidental Grille on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC at 7:00 p.m on the evening of January 4, 2011. This private dealer-only dinner will be attended by Congressman Doug Lamborn, Congressman Mike Coffman, Congressman-Elect Scott Tipton, and Congressman-Elect Cory Gardner.
