RECOMMENDATIONS / REFERRALS REQUESTED: Lighting & Electrical
PLEASE PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26TH

CLICK HERE for a recommendation form.

The CADA Member Services Committee remains actively engaged in targeting key product / service areas for endorsement.  The committee will next turn its focus to Lighting & Electrical products and services.  This selection process will also include identifying a company to service the CADA building.

We would like to obtain any referrals and recommendations on companies that you have had experience with, your current contact(s), or any information/input about your experience you would like to share.  In addition, we would appreciate any key challenges you currently face in this product/service area.

More about the CADA Member Services Committee:  To support association efforts, CADA has created a business model that relies very little on membership dues—less than ten percent of total revenue. To earn non-dues income, we rely primarily on Endorsed Providers and our CADA Services division (F&I Resource Center, Bond Sales, Form Sales, and Health Insurance Services). Through these programs and services, CADA carefully selects, recommends, and endorses certain products and services to members. By choosing to do business with these selected vendors, members are able to help support CADA efforts on their behalf.

Additional dealership participation on this committee is welcome, please contact us if interested.  The committee meets the first Friday of each month, typically by conference call, for about an hour.

RECORD RETENTION GUIDELINES

After the end of the year, we tend to receive many inquiries about how long various types of files and documents must be kept on file.  CLICK HERE for an overall Record Retention Checklist covering dealership files.

October 31, 2007, Record Retention Guidelines, Q&A:  QUESTION:  What are the recommendations for retaining and/or shredding consumer credit reports given both the safeguards rule to protect this information, and the need to keep deal documents as proof of compliance or in defense of a consumer complaint or lawsuit?

SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE DEALERSHIP - DEVELOPING EMPLOYEE POLICIES

Webinar:  11:00am, Thursday – January 20,2011

Phones, Fax Machines, Internet and now Social Media!
New capabilities to grow your business, but also creating employee challenges.

With the invention of the telephone new communication devices and systems have been creating ongoing challenges for business owners. Phones, fax machines, Internet and now social media all bring new capabilities to grow your business, but they have also created employee challenges.

Today, the issue becomes the need to maximize the valid business uses of these tools while reconciling the temptation of employees to misuse and abuse them. On January 20, employment law expert and attorney, Penny Phillips will discuss a whole host of employment law issues surrounding the use of Social Media in the dealership environment.

Presented BY: Penny Phillips, Attorney at Law, Felhaber, Larson, Fenlon & Vogt
Since 1990, Penny Phillips has focused exclusively on counseling and representation of employers in all areas of employment law, including but not limited to FMLA, wage and hour, employment discrimination, defamation, breach of contract, and wrongful discharge.
