Listed here are several articles pertaining to the
auto industry in general that appeared recently in newspapers and other media outlets across the nation.

RECOMMENDATIONS / REFERRALS REQUESTED: Lighting & Electrical
PLEASE PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26TH

CLICK HERE for a recommendation form.

The CADA Member Services Committee remains actively engaged in targeting key product / service areas for endorsement.  The committee will next turn its focus to Lighting & Electrical products and services.  This selection process will also include identifying a company to service the CADA building.

We would like to obtain any referrals and recommendations on companies that you have had experience with, your current contact(s), or any information/input about your experience you would like to share.  In addition, we would appreciate any key challenges you currently face in this product/service area.

More about the CADA Member Services Committee:  To support association efforts, CADA has created a business model that relies very little on membership dues—less than ten percent of total revenue. To earn non-dues income, we rely primarily on Endorsed Providers and our CADA Services division (F&I Resource Center, Bond Sales, Form Sales, and Health Insurance Services). Through these programs and services, CADA carefully selects, recommends, and endorses certain products and services to members. By choosing to do business with these selected vendors, members are able to help support CADA efforts on their behalf.

Additional dealership participation on this committee is welcome, please contact us if interested.  The committee meets the first Friday of each month, typically by conference call, for about an hour.

WASTE TIRE RECYCLING FEE - Q&A: INDUSTRY CODES ON FORM DR 1772

A dealership recently inquired as to what Industry Code should be used to properly complete the DR 1772 (Latest revision, 8/11/2009) return form for the Waste Tire Recycling fee.   The Department of Revenue Taxpayer Services division has advised that dealerships should use the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)* six-digit code.  Key codes for retail automotive dealers include:

441110   New Car Dealers
441210   Recreational Vehicle Dealers
441221   Motorcycle, ATV, and Personal Watercraft Dealers
441229   All Other Motor Vehicle Dealers
*NOTE:  NAICS was developed under the auspices of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and adopted in 1997 to replace the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system.

A reminder that as of November 1, 2007, Colorado retailers of new motor vehicle tires must collect a Waste Tire recycling fee of $1.50, provide a specific disclosure on each invoice, and file a specific tax return form remitting these fees. Visit the July 20, 2010 issue of Open Road for more information on this fee.
