Any dealership that may not have deducted the recently restored 2.22% vendor/service fee from the July sales/use tax remittance can still obtain a refund of this amount. To do so, the tax return must have been filed on-time. As long as the July tax filing was made on-time, the dealership is eligible for a refund, but it is not automatic. An overpayment refund must be obtained separately by filing form DR 0137 Claim for Refund (Rev. 02/21/2006).
