COLORADO LEGISLATOR MEETINGS, 2011
Dealers:
The CADA Legislative Policy Committee is scheduling dealer meetings with Colorado state legislators in order to increase awareness and gain support for many policy issues expected to face auto dealers in the upcoming session of the Colorado General Assembly which convenes January 11, 2012.
Several meetings are planned and you are invited to participate in as many of the meetings as you are able to do.
The primary purpose of this series of brief get-togethers is to foster and advance relationships between CADA member dealers and Colorado’s elected leaders.
The following topics areas are expected to be covered in each session:
- Auto industry issues in general
- Colorado dealer issues in particular
- Proposals to repeal Colorado’s ban on Sunday sales of automobiles
- Growing class action litigation against the auto retail industry
- Trends in auto sales in state and nationally
- Sales tax issues for dealer license plates and jurisdictional tax issues
With the economic challenges faced by the industry today, it is more important than ever that state legislators get the opportunity to hear from you on issues of importance to you and your business.

ARBITRATION AND CLASS ACTION WAIVERS: ARE YOU PROTECTED?

The United States Supreme Court issued an opinion earlier this year that dramatically altered the landscape for arbitration agreements containing class action waivers. In light of these developments, dealers should review existing contracts and consider changes such as implementing arbitration agreements and class action waivers for consumer purchase agreements, service contracts, and for employees.

SCHOMP BMW AND COTERIE PRESS ANNOUNCE DECEMBER 2nd LAUNCH OF BMW ULTIMATE DRIVERS VOLUME 1: 1937-1982
Renowned automotive book author, Jeremy Walton, is traveling from London to Denver for the launch of BMW Ultimate Drives Volume 1: 1937-1982 at an invitation-only book signing co-hosted by Coterie Press and Schomp BMW. The event is being held from 5 to 8p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011, at Schomp BMW, 1190 Plum Valley Lane in Highlands Ranch (Lucent Blvd. off C-470).
Walton is an independent author who has brought benchmark BMW work to a global audience since 1972. The Brit has authored more than 30 high-end automotive books, and is a contributor to ROUNDEL, the official magazine of the BMW Car Club of America. An experienced motoring journalist and former racing driver, he’ll be signing copies of this, his latest book. The first of two volumes, the elegant hardback, 208-page publication covers BMW’s dream machines from 75mph pre-war icons to 230mph supercars of the 21st Century (all of which Walton personally drove). BMW Ultimate Drives Volume 2 will cover BMW models from 1983 to 2011.
