EEOC REPORT DUE BY SEPTEMBER 30 FOR EMPLOYERS WITH 100 OR MORE EMPLOYEES

Employers who have 100 or more employees and employers who employ 100 or more employees from "affiliated entities" are required to submit reports (forms EEO -1) to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by September 30. Employers must use data generated between July and September 2011 when completing the report.

The information from this report is primarily used for statistical purposes, to measure the hiring practices of women and minorities, and eliminate employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin in private industry. The information is also used in investigating employment discrimination allegations and the enforcement of anti-discrimination laws.

Please note that entities are considered "affiliated" if they have centralized ownership, control or management. Even when each location or business operation is a separate corporation or business for tax and other purposes, they are still considered affiliated entities if there is common ownership or control.

Employers with multiple establishments must file the following multiple reports:
1. A report for the principal or headquarter office;
2. A report for each individual location that employs more than 50 people;
3. A consolidated report covering all locations and entities, including those with fewer than 50 employees; and
4. A list showing the name, address, total number of employees and the major activity of each location (i.e., the type of product manufactured or sold or the type of service provided). This information must be included with the consolidated report.

In the event of a complaint of discrimination or harassment, the EEOC or a local agency considering the complaint will review the report to help them determine the validity of the complaint.

CLICK HERE to access further instructions and forms from the EEOC website.

THE AFTERFACT

  • Here’s One Thing That Has To Happen To Get Gen Y To Buy Cars
    Jalopnik, September 24
    If someone doesn't care much about driving or speed or freedom of mobility, I can't sell them a car. But I sure as hell can sell someone who lives either with their parents or a crapload of roommates in a big city apartment a bit of personal space.
  • Ford Recalling 2013 Escape For The Third Time
    AOL Autos, September 6
    It's the third recall in less than two months for the completely redesigned SUV, which also has had problems with fuel lines and carpet padding.
  • Ask The Car Coach: Talking Hot Cars and Bad Fuel Economy
    AOL Autos, September 20
    My fuel economy has lately dropped off, and I really don't want to get rid of the car. I just passed the emissions test. The cost of gas is killing me and there has to be a reasonable solution. Any thoughts?
  • Brain training may slow declines in driving skills of the elderly
    NBC News, September 24
    Today is the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No, the first Bond film.
  • McLaren Releases Image Of Next Great Super Car
    AOL Autos, September 19
    The McLaren P-1 may not be on your shopping list any time soon, but it does represent the car that many 1-percenters have been waiting for from McLaren, the renown maker of Formula-1 race cars and super-priced street racers coveted by wealthy driving enthusiasts.
  • GM claims breakthrough will make vehicles lighter, help gas mileage
    Detroit Free Press, September 24
    General Motors plans to accelerate the replacement of steel with aluminum after researchers achieved what the company described as a "breakthrough" in welding technology.
  • Aston Martin unveils Vanquish
    The Detroit News, September 21
    Luxury automaker Aston Martin unveiled its new Vanquish at the British Embassy Thursday night and confirmed that James Bond will drive a classic British car in this fall's new thriller "Skyfall."
  • A more fuel-efficient Wrangler in the works, Jeep says
    NBC News, September 21
    Not every new car will have to achieve the planned 54.5 mpg average number by 2025, but for every mile per gallon a car registers below that, the manufacturer will have to sell another car that betters that already difficult-to-achieve number.
  • All-Wheel Drive Goes From Novelty to Necessity
    The Wall Street Journal, September 18
    All four wheels are powering the next step in the evolution of the luxury-car business: the rise of all-wheel drive.
