BOBBIE HERRON, DIRECTOR OF DEALER MARKETING, ZMOT AUTO

TURN A LEAD INTO SALE - STOP STEPPING OVER DOLLARS TO PICK UP CENTS

Internet Leads are a main source of business for sales and ROI. All too often we handle leads the same way regardless of the source that is coming in.  Many stores are unfamiliar with the specific best practices per source that increase conversion.  A BDC or a BMD only works with a strong manager, good people and the right process. In order to avoid a BDC your management has to be as engaged with lead traffic as it is with the showroom floor.  The success is dependent upon the existing culture, willingness to progress and top level support and segments based on separation of source and contact type.  The method and timing of follow up is key in each separate indicator.   Stop stepping over dollars to pick up cents and let’s make your store successful. Timing and type of follow up for calls, emails, texts and video.  I will share successes/failures including results/comparisons and effective management styles and process. My research is based on seven years in different markets, managers and different staffing solutions.

BIO: "Having been blessed with a diverse career and responsibilities spanning nearly every variable role within a retail dealership; including General Manager - most recently Director | Digital Sales and Marketing for the Garber Automotive Group operations of sixteen stores across the United States; my focus has been to design and create solutions that increase efficiency and ROI within each department of a dealership in both generation (marketing) and conversion (people and process). I have watched the transformative growth of the Cardinale Group within their Automotive Operations, Vehicle Supply Group as well as the creation and success of ZMOT Auto and have been nothing short of mesmerized by the impressive grouping of products as well as the performance management offered to exclusive ZMOT Auto customers. Joining the Cardinale-Group of companies / ZMOT Auto team; I am empowered to serve and support a Dealer-To-Dealer commitment, true to the CardinaleWay Brand Promise: We Develop Outstanding Relationships Where Everybody Wins.”

WHITE-COLLAR EXEMPTION RULE COMING IN JULY
MSEC Hot Topics, 2/29/2016

Last week, U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Solicitor of Labor M. Patricia Smith gave July 2016 as the firm date for the DOL’s Final Rule on the Fair Labor Standards Act white-collar exemption regulations. She stated the Final Rule would take effect 60 days after publication.

The DOL issued proposed amendments to the white-collar exemption regulations last July. Significantly, the DOL proposed increasing the minimum annual salary for employees exempted from minimum wage and overtime under the Executive, Administrative, and Professional exemptions from $23,660 to $50,440.

Earlier this month, more than 100 members of the U.S. House of Representatives signed a letter to Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez expressing serious concern with the proposed changes.

MSEC will continue to follow this critical issue closely.

FEDERATED INSURANCE: AUTO DEALER CLAIM OF THE MONTH

Federated Insurance’s “Claim of the Month” – Could it happen to you?

A sales rep drove a high-end demo home. That evening, she took friends out for dinner and drinks. On the way home, she caused an accident that resulted in two serious injuries, and the death of a single mother of three.
CLAIM AMOUNT: $3.5 million

What policies are in place to help prevent this from happening at your dealership? Do you know who’s driving your vehicles? Federated Insurance recommends several best practices to help protect your business and manage risks; for example,

  • Know your drivers. Order MVRs on all employees who may drive company vehicles.
  • Limit the number of demos.
  • Transfer the risk: get the title out of the dealership’s name.

These are just a few loss control recommendations you can use to help protect your dealership. To learn more, contact your local Federated Insurance representative and request a copy of our Auto Dealer “Keys to Success” risk management education materials. Federated Insurance is recommended by 18 state and national auto dealer associations just like yours for customized insurance programs and value-added risk management services, such as Federated’s Shield Network®, the Risk Management Resource Center, and the Federated Employment Practices NetworkSM. Visit www.federatedinsurance.com to discover resources you can use to create or ramp up your own risk management program, or to contact your local representative.
