2009 NADA CONVENTION ACCOMODATIONS
As you begin receiving your registration materials for the 2009 NADA Convention in New Orleans, we would like to encourage you to consider a few of the properties the CADA events management team scouted on a recent trip to New Orleans.
We would like to recommend to all Colorado dealers the Marriott New Orleans at the Convention Center. Firstly, you will experience a legendary riverfront, boutique-style hotel located in the Warehouse & Arts District, directly across the street from the Convention Center and within walking distance of the French Quarter. Secondly, the annual CADA Breakfast will be hosted there on Sunday, January 25th. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is friendly and efficient. To learn more about this fantastic property visit http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/msymc-new-orleans-marriott-at-the-convention-center/
As a second choice, the CADA events management team recommends the Westin New Orleans Canal Place. Located along the Mississippi River and adjacent to the French Quarter an eight minute walk to the convention center, the Westin makes a wonderful second choice. To learn more about the Westin please visit http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1763

AUTO INDUSTRY DIVISION - COMPLIANCE INSPECTIONS / UPDATED COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST
As a reminder, in the July 9th, 2008 issue of Open Road, we highlighted an excerpt from the latest issue of the Auto Industry Division’s Wheels newsletter regarding the Division’s current effort to conduct on-site, basic inspections at all dealerships. Note that an updated version of the DR 2129 Compliance Inspection Checklist has been posted. Please ensure you are familiar with these fundamental compliance requirements.
• Inspections - The Compliance and Investigation’s staff will begin conducting “Compliance Inspections” at all dealer locations. The goal of this program is education and compliance. Staff members will enter dealer locations in a non-aggressive, public relations manner, and conduct an inspection. They will have a one-page checklist of topics that need to be covered/inspected. Management will be encouraged to participate in the inspection and ask questions of the staff member during the process. This will give dealers the opportunity to meet Division staff assigned to their particular location so that communication can be free flowing. Should minor violations be found, the staff member will attempt to gain compliance. -- Bruce Zulauf, AID Director, June 2008, Wheels
