AUTOMOTIVE NEWS AT A GLANCE
Listed here are several articles pertaining to the
auto industry in general that appeared recently in newspapers and other media outlets across the nation.

REMINDER: COLORADO EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS!
Reprinted from August 6, 2008 Open Road
As a reminder, Colorado dealerships are required to provide either a passing emissions test OR a voucher to consumers who reside in the enhanced emissions areas. These areas include the following counties:
- Denver
- Douglas
- Jefferson
- Boulder
- Broomfield
- Adams (parts)
- Arapahoe (parts)
While Larimer, Weld, and El Paso counties were removed from prior gas-powered emissions testing requirements on Jan.1, 2007, this did not change obligation of dealers located in those counties regarding sales to consumers who still reside in the covered areas. If this statutory requirement is not met, a consumer can require a dealer to unwind the deal.

AFTER SERVING ON THE SUMMER INTERIM COMMITTEE ON PINNACOL ASSURANCE, SENATOR SHAWN MITCHELL (R-BROOMFIELD) WEIGHS IN ON THE STATE'S INSURER OF LAST RESORT
Even while Coloradans root for the state’s economy to get back on its feet, some lawmakers just can’t control their hostility to business. They’re limbering up to throw punches at struggling employers. Whether they succeed depends on how effectively employers and others engage during the Legislature’s 2010 session.
A case in point is the interim committee that took aim this summer at Pinnacol Assurance, the state’s largest workers compensation carrier. The committee’s recommendations combine economic malpractice and unnecessary sausage-making at their worst.

BE A PART OF CADA'S GRASSROOTS EFFORTS!
In large part, CADA’s legislative success is due to the active and meaningful participation of our member dealers in grassroots activism. We are in the process of scheduling 30 meetings across Colorado between now and when the General Assembly convenes for the 2010 Session on January 13th. To see a current list of the meetings we have confirmed, please click here and RSVP to Lauren Stadler at lauren.stadler@coloradodealers.org if you plan to attend. We can’t wait to see you at these very important and educational meetings!
