AUTOMOTIVE NEWS AT A GLANCE
Listed here are several articles pertaining to the
auto industry in general that appeared recently in newspapers and other media outlets across the nation.

STATE STATUTE ON WINDOW TINTING
Dealers are reminded of the following statute on the books in Colorado that covers window tinting. It has come to our attention recently that at least one locality has been actively issuing tickets to drivers of cars that do not meet these requirements. Dealerships that accept cars on trade-in and then re-sell them are reminded of these restrictions as other provisions require all cars sold in Colorado to meet these restrictions. The key excerpt is below:
. . .any window, except the windshield, is composed of, covered by, or treated with any material or component which presents an opaque, nontransparent, or metallic or mirrored appearance in such a way that it allows less than twenty-seven percent light transmittance. The windshield shall allow seventy percent light transmittance. The provisions of this paragraph (a) shall not apply to the windows to the rear of the driver, including the rear window, on any motor vehicle; however, if such windows allow less than twenty-seven percent light transmittance, then the front side windows and the windshield on such vehicles shall allow seventy percent light transmittance. C.R.S. 42-4-227
